Pianist and Educator, Jodi Russell, B.M., M.M., is a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music with over 15 years experience performing and teaching piano. She has played for weddings, church services, outreach recitals, special events and various collaborations locally and overseas. Her students range from preschool to college level as well as working adults and senior citizens with a wide variety of backgrounds, musical goals, and learning styles. Her knack for diversity enables her students to develop an all inclusive musicianship while exploring a wide variety of musical styles.
Jodi Russell's musical journey began in New York City where she studied piano privately and later as a music major at Manhattan's Fiorello H LaGuardia H.S of Music and Art & Performing Arts. She received her Bachelor of Music with honors in Piano Performance from VCU where she studied piano, classical guitar and voice. Ms. Russell later served as the President of the New Jersey Music Teachers Association collegiate chapter of Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton NJ where she obtained her Masters of Music with distinction in Piano Pedagogy and Piano Performance. Her main goal as an educator is to create well-rounded students who can play their instrument confidently at any level.
