Jodi-Ann Russell served as the President of the New Jersey Music Teachers Association Collegiate Chapter of Westminster Choir College where she studied for her Masters of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Piano Performance. She graduated with high honors from Virginia Commonwealth University where she holds her Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. She is currently teaching at the Westminster Conservatory, Inspira Cultural and Performing Arts Center, Brunswick Music Academy, Innovative Piano, and her own studio.
Jodi-Ann is a very encouraging and patient instructor who challenges and guides her students to reach a high level of accomplishment in music. All students who take the ABRSM exam pass with exceptionally high scores. She is always excited to teach and individualizes each lesson based on the specific strengths, weaknesses, learning style and overall goals of each student. She has taught preschool, elementary, middle, high school, college students as well as working adults and senior citizens with a wide variety of backgrounds and musical goals. She has also worked with students with autism and other challenges. She structures each lesson to include musicality, ear training, technique, theory and relaxed movement at the piano. She encourages improvisation, composition, and activities to inspire and cultivate a vivid imagination in all her students. Students get to share their musical growth through master classes and recitals that are held throughout the year.
